Guess what! Guess what! Guess what!!!!!!

I got my visa the other day (it only took three days for them to get it to me which was impressive) so then I could get my plane tickets!!!! I fly Vancouver --> Frankfurt --> Zurich on August 10th, so I'll arrive in Thun around dinner time on August 11th.

Only 24 more days :)

Number 4:

So today I'm leaving to go to my cabin for a few weeks. I should be there at about lunch time!! I promised my cousin that I would wear my bathing suit so that as soon as I get there I can jump off the wharf with him... but so far the weather isn't looking so great:S 

I had a really good time with my grandma, and also down in Washington at the dance competition, but it's going to be reallllllly nice to finally be able to just chill on the beach in the sun. (And practice German of course!!) I think my dad and I might do the triathlon together next weekend as well... so that will be interesting. 

Anyways, it's less than a month until Switzerland now!

Number 3:

Hallo wieder [Hello again]
Today I'm leaving home for about a month before I go on exchange. First I'm going down island to say goodbye to my grandmas, then I'm heading down to Washington for a dance competition. After that I'm going to go to my summer cabin for three weeks... so bye bye computers!

Since this is going to be my last trip to a 'big city' before I go, I have a shopping list of the last few things that I should buy for Switzerland:
-  hiking boots (or at least hiking shoes): I've been promised some cool trails! And in case you didn't know there's a mountain or two in Switzerland ;)
-  a camera
-  an external hard drive: I'll need somewhere to store all my pictures!
-  cheep Canada stuff: I'm hoping since Canada Day's over stores will have some things they reallllllly want to get rid of :)

Number 2:

Guess what... My guarantee forms came today!! Now I can finally start my visa application. This is so exciting!!

Number 1:

The next year of my life is going to be pretty exciting. In 34 or 35 days I'll be flying out of Vancouver, and more than 24 hours and three plane rides later I'll (hopefully) end up in Zurich or Geneva! After that I'll be busy perfecting my German, skiing, swimming in the lake, meeting tons of people, yodeling, and basically having an amazing time... on the other side of the world. I'm sure I'm going to be busy, but I will keep this thing updated for the next 365 days so you can follow me through all my adventures!
